Pleixe is an easy to use acrylic aquaponics system. It features modular leaf planters that allow for customization and optimization of the light and space you have in your home.

The majority of aquaponic systems on the market are large and cumbersome setups that require ample outdoor space. Furthermore, systems for purchase are expensive and most aquaponic users follow a DIY plan which requires some background knowledge in construction and extensive research in the life cycle of plants and fish.

The design challenge was to scale down the setup and minimize the learning curve required. Through extensive research, the design achieved is simple enough for a child, yet, allows for complex customization.

The base planter is easy to remove as two separate components providing access to the fish tank.

Borrowing nature's blueprints, the entire system mimics that of a plant.

The water fountain is as beautiful as it is functional. Pumping water up from the base, waste (nutrients) provided by the fish are redistributed to the highest plants. On it's way back down, the water collects beneficial byproducts from the plants to nourish the fish.

Leaves are angled so that the excess water drips off the leaves. It's attachment to the water fountain tube provides a runway leading straight to the planter cups.
